[OT] Basketball anyone?

Reapersaurus-

I too was surprised to see the Kings miss so many free throws. However, now that they're gone through that experience, I don't expect the same thing to happen next year in the same situation. This should be a great rivalry for at least a couple more years (unless the Kings do something wacky and don't resign Bibby, but I can't imagine why that would happen). Next year's series should be another great one.

Finally back to the board..... and eating crow.. yuck.

I think like most fans we had a feeling it would come to this when Horry made "the shot" in game 4.

Then we brought our false hope to LA. up 3-2 and as soon as I saw Dick Baveta I knew we were screwed.....

Game 6 was a "money" game! and despite that the kings almost won anyway.

Game 7 was a choke session of epic proportions.

I now know what it feels like to be a Utah Jazz fan...... watching an incredible point guard, great power forward and 3 wastes of space loose to bunch ego freaks...

Bitter....? Not about game 7 ... that was foul line choke exibition..... but game 6 ... ya bitter.... I hate when my team loses to a great team like Shaq, Kobe and 3 reffs..

Go NETs Go Nets... (but we all know its Lakers in 4)

And so it is. :D

And right in the nick of time too. I was getting kind of tired waiting for yet another great team in the franchise I have loved since first watching a NBA game in 1985.

God, I hated those 90's...people always came to make fun of me because of the semi-sorry state my team was in.

Now everyone comes in to say how they hate "us" bandwagoners...I just laugh at it these days...

Anyway, great season by the Nets, but they knew they just didn't stand a chance, even if they were to face the Kings instead of the Lakers.

Yep, finals finally over. Ratings in the dumpster. This is actually bad news for the Lakers since the NBA was counting of Kobe and Shaq to draw in ratings like Michael Jordan did, and it didn't work. But congrats to the Lakers, the threepeat is complete.

They would have needed two losses o celebrate at home. For the finals the NBA goes 2-3-2 instead of the 2-2-2-1 previous series.

I hate to sound ingnorant (especially since I started this thread), but didn't Sac vs LA go 2-2-1-1-1? If they went 2-2-2-1, the last game would've been in LA or LA would have had 4 home games in the series and I know Sac had the home court advantage. Am I right or have I finally lost it?

Heh.:) Sorry, typing faster than I was thinking. You are correct.

Sac vs. LA for the Western Conference Finals is a 2-2-1-1-1 format. The series went to game 7 which was played at Arco and LA won (go Lakers!)

The finals are a 2-3-2 format (instituted by the Eastern Conference once the Lakers started winning in the 80s to give the east a better shot against the Lakers with home court advantage, since 2-3-2 evens out things a bit more as the visitor only needs to steal one on the road and then win 3 at home). So the person who said LA would have had to lose tonite and then next game to go back home was correct.
