[OT] Critical Failure

Hey all I just am writing to tell you that I DM Sidran made a Critical failure last night on a Strength check against one of my players and took the big crunch in my lower leg.

Frankly I rolled a 1 on my DM Doctored STR Check and broke my Fibia, or My tibia cant remember which right at this Vicoden induced moment but I only chipped the one that supports my weight.


I was wrestling with my friend in the park when we fell and I braced to catch us both. Next thing I knew I was on the ground with a severe pain and then I was in the hospital undergoing X-rays

I am gimply getting to the best boards on the web to say I hope everyone had a better RL rolling session than I did last night

Well.hmmhmm.. I am 20 years old so yes I maybe should not have been rough housing with my buddy but it was one of those High Male attitude evenings where we both wanted to wrestle a bit to see who was better

Anyway I get my cast tomorrow and then I head to work at ACI Telecentrics (talking on the phone)

I broke my arm once as a small boy - both bones, just above the wrist, and needed to keep my arm elevated and immobile. They attached my sling to a hook on the ceiling, and I basically did not move from the couch for several days at least.

The worst part was, I managed to get chicken-pox at the exact same time. I still remember how much I was itching under that cast, and it's been over 25 years!

Also - sliding around on the kitchen linoleum while wearing socks and a cast is not recommended either. My bones healed wrong, and they had to.... rebreak and reset them!

I'm sure you'll be fine though. The toughs in my old 'hood tell me you're not a man until you have broken something...

The real funny part was I was relating everything from the break to the pain in D20 terms while in the hospital. it was funny for my players. Truthfully I was a nonstop joke machine until the pain kicked in

More likely your tibia, as there is no such bone as a fibia.

Or it might have been your fibula.

I wrote "get well soon", but I realise that that is a bit foolish: your recovery will take as long as it usually takes. So: enjoy convalescence, and wring the cast for every ounce of sympathy it can induce.
