I would have thought they would have gone with the black tentacled head look, but this plush look is probably 'cuter'.

Gonna have to get one just so poor plush Cthulhu will have company. None of my other stuffed animals will associate with him

It's still pricey - about 87 bucks, all told - but as far as I can tell it's still available, and it certainly looks authentic.

It looks nice, but certainly doesn't look authentic. Go back and read the description of the statue from the story, and compare it to that statue. The one on eBay is much closer.

And they call Cthulhu an "Elder God"

Hah! I saw a much more authentic figurine of Cthulhu at Burning Man, right before the mad priest with the star on his forehead grew tentacles and cast all the younger gods out of me.
