Follow a real sport.
One where great men, nay HEROES, arrayed in armor and helm ram into eachother with the sound of thunder, thews straining, man versus man in mortal struggle. Where the fleet of foot are thrown that ovoid treasure and speed, not unlike Hermes, toward a passing, illusory safety beneath pillarous uprights. Where man is allowed, nay ENCOURAGED, to assault and bear his foe to the ground with righteous fury and timeless warcries.

Okay okay okay, Pele isn't pale, but he's still a soccer player. 
I was basically repeating my reply that I made in the fantasy football thread that to some Brit who was mocking football because the players "have to put on armor to play chase."
