For those on the board in the rest of the world:

The Blue Man in question is the candidate for the Libertarian Party. This party is a minor fringe party here. They have some good ideas about taxes and personal liberties, but they also have some very...hmm....out there ideas. They are a far Right (US right- not rest of world right). Like our Greens to our Deomcrats, the Libs are to our Republicans.

So the guy is a little weird, but so us Americans feel OK, he doesn't represent the mainstream. We have enough crooked, wackos in those parties, just non of them wear their foibles like he does.
