[OT] Eastern Seaboard Snowstorm

I'm in Central NJ. I've had to call off game tonite(3 out of 4 players can't get here), and I've given up on shovelling my own walk(although I did my good deed for the year and shoveled the little old lady down the street's walk).

Later on, if the snow lessens, me and the remaining 4th player(who lives nearby) might go hike up to the pizzeria and grab a pie.

Yep..

Im in Westchester CO. NY. Drifta are about 2 feet as well.

I was supposed to go into work today, but decided against it...

I'm not looking forward to the shoveling...although usually I just jam it into 4WD and run over the driveway several times , but looks like I'll have to dig the truck out... :)

I'm originally from NOVA, and I remember the Blizz O'96 very well....I was stuck in Indianapolis for 3 days waiting for National (Reagan) to open back up...and boy did I have to shovel when I got back home...yikes! :)

It's been snowing here in Boston for the past few hours. We're supposed to get 20 inches total in the city.

I'm sitting here with a book to finish writing, 10 days worth of food, a dozen new Reaper paints, about two dozen primed miniatures waiting to be painted, a high-powered battery lantern, and 12 hours of battery power for my laptop. Let it snow, let the power shut down. I'm not going anywhere.

Man, I love winter.

Things are looking pretty cold and white here in NYC. Fortunately my refrigerator is packed with leftovers, so I don't have to go anywhere today. Huzzah!

By the way, for those currently being snowed upon, I have an odd question. Would you ever describe a blizzard as "sinuous"?

Simple explanation:

As the protests against the war are mounting, Bush had the Weather Control Division of the NSA arrange for a dumping on ... Weather control is still an imprecise science.

You'd think with all the tax money we've spent on HAARP over the years, they'd get it right. But after the Mind Control module was added, things just went to hell. Talk about feature creep....

Down here in South Carolina, we at least didn't have to worry about snow - just sleet and icy roads. It took me about 10 minutes to break through the ice around my car door. Give me a light snow anytime, but if I have to play Howard Carter and break the tomb-seal again tomorrow, I'm gonna need a new paint job! :)

My condolences to the rest of the northeast on the complete snow-dump this weekend, though...

I was going to go to work today, until I saw this morning how bad it really looked. I've been trying to call in and let them know I wouldn't be there since about 7:30 this morning... its now 2, and as of yet I haven't gotten a hold of anyone. I assume nobody else went to work either...

I just used my snowblower in the driveway, my dog doing her best to stand 15 feet away and catch ALL of the snow in her mouth. It's slippery out there.

On the other hand, I was in Vermont this weekend, and it -25 below zero. In comparison, Boston is really quite balmy.
