[OT] Friendster

Misty,

I'm married, so I don't need an S.O.... and I've got all the friends I need...

right here.

This is the part where I get annoyed that ENWorld doesn't have an "Awwwwwww" Smiley.

Got the three adds...excellent.

I certainly don't think of Friendster as a dating tool, though it can be used that way.

I more think of it as a map of the degrees of separation between myself and others. It's extremely odd to add someone new, and notice that you were already conected to them through a totally unexpected string of friends.

I had this happen to me at my recent Halloween party, where a friend of mine brought 15 extra friends of his with him, and I just happened to know almost all of them - but in no way related to that friend.

Friendster shows that kind of thing...only with hundreds of thousands of people.

It's pretty cool to see.

Practically everyone I know over here, from my sister to my second cousin three time removed is on Friendster.

For some reason, the fact that you might find out that an old childhood friend of yours that you've not seen in years knows your best friend's girlfriend's best friend appeals to them very greatly.

Anyway, if you're interested in getting to know people from all the way across the Atlantic (or Pacific, or whatever ocean/sea that separates our two countries*), aenimus4@singnet.com.sg

*Alright, so yours is a country, mine's an island...

I've only seen very cryptic responses to the "What is Friendster?" questions.... So I'll be bold and ask again. What is Friendster?

Or is it one of those Matrix-esque things that one cannot be shown and can only be experienced? :D

Friendster is a free service that allows you to meet new people. Basically, when you add one person’s email address you are connected to all of their friends. You can then browse through all the people you are connected to. You are also able to browse by interest. Want to find some people who enjoy Uncle Joey’s antics on “Full House?” Just type in “full house” and it will search your network of friends. Anyway, if this isn’t clear enough, just head over to www.friendster.com and sign up. Anyone is totally free to add me as well: My email is slomoot@hotmail.com
