Well, I saw the link and the comic . . . um . . .

Okay, for those of you looking, click on the bottom link on the left, and there'll be another link to a pdf of a comic strip.

I'm just wondering, is that supposed to be legit, or is it just one really big marketing ploy, or what?

OK, while the idea of a hot bisexual DM inviting me to stay after the game with her and her girlfriend is kind of nice, this garbage is just the kind of nonsense that we have to speak out against. How can we present an organized, unified response/course of action?

Idea's ?

BAD taste

I'm not offended by the "fake comic".

I'm not necessarily offended by the game.

I'm offended by making up a whole legit-seeming church website to promote a RPG

I'm not offended, but I don't think it's especially funny either. I'm not sure what they were trying to accomplish. Pissing off evangelicals? Making Gamers laugh? I think it won't do either of those very well.

Yeah, I've got two.

1. Relax.

2. Seriously relax.

Gotcha

1. It doesn't bother you.

2. So it shouldn't bother anyone else and if it does, they have a problem.

Sorry, but if you're gonna push the envelope you gotta take the bad with the good. I'm sure White Wolf knows that and I'm sure they're prepared for any backlash. However, when you ride in to battle, you get battle scars.

That said, I thought the reverend's pointy ears and goatee was a nice touch. This is a pretty clever idea in a way. When everyone "knew" that gaming was evil, RPG sales doubled over sales projections (c.f. Mr. Gygax's comments on this message board).
