[OT] Happy Thanksgiving or, what we have to be thankful for.

This year, I'm thankful for finding the woman I love, who not only is beautiful and intelligent, but also more of a hardcore gamer than I am. =)

And I'm happy for having a wealth of good friends that I can rely on and enjoy spending time with.

Life is good.

I am thankful for....
-air with which I breath
-water with which quenches my thirst
-food with which satisfies my stomach
-clothes to keep me warm
-shoes to protect my feet
-internet to meet new friends and read up on rat bastard threads

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

A special thanks to the EN crowd for making this place a great message board to hang in, lurk, make comments, and have fun at other people's expense. hehehe

I could echo nearly everything that has been listed already. As a Captain in the USAF, I want to especially thank Airwolf for his comment about all of us in uniform. As you say grace around your table tomorrow, add a quick request for blessings on those men and women who won't be able to be with their families as they serve in locations all over the world.

Here's to a Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I am thankful for the chance to live on this earth, at this moment, right now. I have heard people complain sometimes that they "missed their moment", or that they "live in some very sorry times" - but the fact is that humanity as a whole has it better now than at any point before us. We have our worries and our problems, but they pale in comparison to think of the shoulders of the giants on which we stand, to get us here.

I am also thankful for my wife, my family, and my job - my health, my friends, and my hobby.

well...

- the thousands of potters who cleared the way for folks like me..
- the wifeunit, without whom i am just some schmuck with a dirty studio...
- my game group, all great guys who i would spend the time with even if we didn't game...
- the great community i found here, and the certain nautical cat that makes fighting fun. as well as the funky brit who runs it.
- prosperity beyond what i deserve..
- the boost i have received from my time spent with mark from creative mountain games...
- patience from the hound at ambient...
- the folks who put their livelihoods at risk carrying what i make...
- friends, friends, friends, friends, friends....you know who you are :)

I'm thankful for my wife, who continues to carry my unborn child. :)
My unborn child, sex yet to be determined.
I'm thankful for my crazy dog, who despite the fact that she continues to poop on the bathroom rug everyday, I still love her, and she's still cute as a button.
Not being laid off, despite working in the Telecom industry, and for a company that has laid off 12,000 people in the past year.
My new house, which stays a mess, but we love it anyway.
My next book, Artificer's Handbook, which is just awesome, and a labor of love, is due out 1Q '03. ;)
The D20 system, and Ryan Dancey.
The fact that I just found a copy of Sibelius at a music store that was going out of business for $175, when it normally sells for $600.
Mystic Eye Games and Thunderhead Games, and the fact that they apparently like my work well enough that they let me continue to do it. :)
Mouse and keyboard wrist and armrests that contain that gel stuff. I love that stuff.
The Onion
Antonin Dvorak, and all the great music that he wrote.

So much to be thankful for.

edit: I'm thankful this software lets me correct my mistakes. :)

I'm very fortunate to have many things to be thankful for:

- my gorgeous gamer girlfriend, who is also my best friend and has a great sense of humor
- my family, who has always been supportive of me, and who I have never fought with
- my girlfriend's family, who have welcomed and embraced me like one of their own kids
- my scottish terrier Murdoch
- finishing my PhD in Neuroscience for free (no debt!), and likely getting my dream job at my undergrad university as a professor in a year
- my good health
- my friends (both gaming and non-gaming) who have always been there for me when I needed them
- my doctoral advisor, who also happens to be about the coolest guy in the world, almost like a second dad to me
- always having enough cash to pick up the D&D/minis/game stuff I want
- ENWorld, as a great place to trade ideas and have friendly discussions
- and too many other things to list!

- My beautiful, intelligent, highly successful girlfriend
- My wonderful family
- My friends (even the non-gamers)
- An utterly fantastic planet that the divine has blessed me to live upon
- And d20 Modern which I will use to hail firey bullets upon my unsuspecting PCs before I toss them into a possessed subway train that takes them directly to the tortures of the Abyss.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Above all, I am thankful for being alive.

I'm thankful for my family, for the girl I'm going to propose to tonight, and for being lucky enough to be able to take things like this, being online posting on a message board, for granted.
