Tonguez

A suffusion of yellow
I just recieved an anonymous message in my hotmail account (junk folder) claiming to be a hack application

Anyone else got it? Is it a virus? Should I be concerned?

It's spam, almost certainly a trojan (if you run it the person who sent it will have complete control over your computer.)

how does one find & eliminate trojans from one's computer?

Usually if there is a trojan on your computer, all you can really do is unplug it from internet and format ALL harddrives, re-install everything. Get a good virus protection program, update it daily. And take back-ups of important files now and again.

Trojans is the reason why real men sometimes cry (since they don't take back-ups).

Talk about paranoid. :)

Trojans are not as bad as people make them out to be, and aren't that difficult to remove.

Go download Tauscan trojan detection and removal tool and check your system regularly.

As for the email...it's most likely going to be something that will look like it's redirecting you back to the main hotmail login screen as a ruse to try and get you to type your password in again...which will just send your hotmail password to someone else.

Yes most trojans (or 'remote admin tools') can be fairly easily removed with virus-scanners and specialised programs like the one D'karr posted, but while it's there they have root access to your computer. Most likely they'd just use you as a zombie to launch a DDOS attack, but they might decide to be malicious.
