Wow, I never expected such a response --overwhelming in such a good way. Thanks again everyone; once again words fail me.
But hey, thanks for the XP awards! I think I failed my toughness feat more than a few times; it was really only luck, faith, hope, and the support of family and friends that helped me though this.
To answer the question: My original diagnosis was Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, which is a very survivable type of cancer. However, they didn't catch it until had really spread and formed tumors, including one big one about two inches behind my nose (near my throat area). The initial surgery didn't go so well...I was ICU for a week on a breathing machine. Anyway, I'll keep the story brief.
With agressive radiation and chemo, the tumors were eventually blasted (literally) into scar tissue, and my blood has stayed clean enough to put into the remissions category! My hair has grown back nice and thick too!
In one thread, me and Buttercup were joking about DMing for each other in the old folks home. Thanks to so many good people out there, that is now a distinct possibility
Thanks again very much for the kind words and support. What a great community we have here.
