(OT) Medieval: Total War troubles

hey all,
Anyone else having problems with this game? I was extremely excited to purchase it, and the screenshots look glorious. However, when I select campaign (which is what is great with Total War products) it locks up and kicks me back to the desktop.

Have I done something wrong? I am not very computer literate, but I love playing the games. NWN, which has much higher system specs, runs fabulous on my computer, even in multiplayer...

Any imput would be appreciated.

Graphics card

This is almost certainly a problem with your video card or other hardware. There have been a few problems related to this. I suggest looking at the forums on Totalwar.com, or the ones for you card manufacturer. I have a similar problem. The game worked fine until I upgraded to my state-of-the-art Radeon 9700 card. Unfortunately, the current Catalyst drivers are not compatible with Total War.

Great friggin game when it was working though.
