Hi,
The following is a piece I posted on my website today, it's nothing grand or anything, but I thought I would post it here too.
If anyone on here serves in the military, or has lost someone who has served in the military, then I just want to say 'Thanks'.
It may be sentimental, but so what if it is.
Anyhow, here it is...
Today is Memorial Day in the United States, it is a holiday of remembrance and observance in honor of those who have served our nation and paid the ultimate price for freedom.
Regardless of our opinions on war, those who serve in our nation's Armed Forces should always be honored; for they served in place of others, sacrificed much so that we would not have to, and protect our freedoms and rights with the very essence of their being.
It is easier to disagree with someone's opinion then it is to agree with their right to voice it. Not only do the men and women in our Armed Forces protect our civil rights, but they also sacrificed their lives in honor of those rights.
The tree of freedom is planted within the bodies of patriots and watered with their very blood so that we may be protected from tyranny's harshness under it's blessed canopy.
