[OT, Miniatures] Need Help

I have been playing Birthright, and I have found a character that I like and will keep around. The problem is I need a miniture to represent him. Actually, I need two.

He is a Paladin of Haelyn, and I am aiming to take him into the Cavalier PrC. I need a Fighter in full plate with a shield and sword, and I need a Fighter in Full plate with a lance on horseback. The trick is, they have to look identical, since they represent the same character mounted or dismounted. (The reasoning behind it is that it would be awkward to bring a mounted figure into buildings and the same goes if he is supposed to be mounted and all I have is a figure on the ground.) They need to be interchangeable depending on the situation.

Now, I am realistic. The odds of them looking identical are about as good as my walking on the moon. So I'll settle for mostly alike. I am not opposed to kit-bashing a bit to bring the two closer together.

Does anyone have any good recomendations?

well you took the words right out of my mouth: kitbash.

This will require you to buy 3 minis though. 2 of the same, plus the one with the alternate atire. Use a nice sharp, big Xacto and lop off that head! Glue it on the other, use a bit of putty to fill in the inevitable crack at the base of the head, primer, paint and Voila! you got yourself an identical looking face with a different outfit.

Now if it were only as easy as I made it sound . . .

You'd have to shove some green stuff in their gapping, fanged maw, but it's worth a check. I have the ones on the upper right, but those bear great swords.

They come 2 to a set - mounted and unmounted! So, if one looks good, you will get two matching minis.

You might also want to take a look at Games Workshop's Freelance Knight from the Mordheim line. He comes in his blister both mounted and on foot.

Yeah... what I would do is get a pair of the King Arthur line (some beat me to mentioning them ) and then, if you don't like the closed-helm design all but a couple have, lop off their heads get two identical minis that have a head you like and affix them.

Hey, I was at work, the a/c went out in the data center, and we had to shut down all the servers, except the email and web servers. Since all of my tasks involve working on the servers, I was forced to cruise the web. Forced, I tell you. Forced!

Great idea. And just changing the head should be (relatively) simple.
