Cmon people... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fair enough, but didn't Peter Jackson specifically alter FotR to include Arowyn (sp?), Liv Tyler, in all three of the movies for the express purpose of giving females someone to identify with? In other words to get females in the theatre and to give them someone on screen to cheer, i.e. marketing. In the end most everyone makes movies to make money. If it wasn't profitable we wouldn't have so many cool movies. Wild Karrde -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5 mins Max of Arwen with maybe 2 mins of Galadriel compared to a whole movie of the princess in the first movie (who did NOTHING) AND now another whole movie dedicated to a mushy love story, Love thats doomed to fail and love that cannot be (how drole) ;) :) :) <-------Smileys! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Women are a little deeper than that, and won't be 'brought in' just because there happens to be a lovestory as part of the movie. Sure, we might like to see some gals on screen, but they aren't required to be mooning over some git just to get our attention. Give us a little more credit, and give some to the men, too. Ashtal -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not all women (many) will fall for this soppy, mushy, sad, love story and it will bring them all in, in droves...time will tell tho :) And before you call me a male chauvinist pig , i was waiting in line to see my beloved 'Fellowship of the Rings' for over 30 mins and i kept seeing girls after groups of girls after girls walking past me into the theatre next to 'Fellowship' Not even couples, just groups of girls going to see this one film...the ratio was easily 20:1 (girls to guys) I was curious so i asked an usher 'Hey dude what movie is playing next door?' 'Vanilla Sky' Typical Tom Cruise draws in the girls like flies and so will this ploy, nice one Georgy... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- No one can deny that the relationship between Anakin and Amidala is a defining point and a vital part of Anakin's history, just as his mother's death will be. It just irks me that the love story gets dumped on because it's a love story, even though it's only part of the movie, while the equally important non-blowing-things-up emotional aspect of the movie, Anakin's mother's death, is not a big deal. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The love story IS NO big deal (not to me anyway) If anything the death of Anakins Mother is what draws him finally over to the dark side... cmon you think im going to sell my soul over a chick? get real girls... But if someone threatens my blood they pay and pay dearly... But Georgy knows that Girls dont like all that hate and revenge stuff, oh its all good that he loves his mother and must make her killers pay, even if it drags him to the dark side, but cmon that love story awith Anakin smooching over amidala...how cute...your the man Anakin  -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just seems a very backwards, "Girls are icky! Love stuff? BLECH!" kind of reaction to a very important part of the plot line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Urgh LOVE BLECH, totally icky ooohhhh goey YUK! :) Harlequin
