[OT] New Year's--Who gives a crap?

Re: Just an observation...

Ziona's union excepted:

Christmas and New Year's Eve suck!

Why on Earth should I care about a holiday (holyday, could be related) for the son of a god in whom my belief ranges from not at all to tenuous. To see family? I get to see them whenever I feel like it, and my feelings for them do not teeter on the brink of insanity just because it is a specific day: I either love them or not. The possibility that some other guy may have been borne on any given day doesn't change anything. Do not get me started on the commercial aspects.

New Year's Eve—it is just another day (yes, just like a B-day). When/if I wake up on the 1st, 24 more hours will have passed since the 31st. But, you say that an entire year has passed since the last time that happened—big yip. Guess what; you can say the same thing about any day of the year except Feb. 29th. If you want to mark a day that actually stands out, pick that one.

I would say that the only good thing to come from these things would be the few measly hours we are granted as a reprieve from work. But what happens, we go home from work and begin doing those things that need to be done but never have time to get done during a normal week. I was almost happy to go back to work this year (I think that there is something wrong with me at this point).

At least stores and restaurants will be open on New Year's Eve—try finding an Arby's that is open on Christmas eve. You will be having No double dipping chicken tenders my friends, and that is the truth.

Now that's just sick. ;)

Those days off are extremely valuable, and I'll certainly take them rather than complain about them.

Day off or no day off? Hmmm... let me see...

Wow! I had no idea people did not care for the holidays so much. I know in my family Christmas was tough for quite a few years because we had a number of family tragedies during December, e.g. my Father was killed on Dec. 22nd. However, generally I relish my time off and do enjoy the holidays a lot. Christmas was extra special this year because my young children really got into it.

New Year's Eve always means a gaming extravaganza for me and I must admit I am really fired up for 2003.

I hereby resolve to game my butt off in 2003!
Happy New Years everyone!

Yeah, the days off from work are also a great reason to celebrate! Plus, it's really nice having our anniversay off every year! LOL :D
