[OT] NFL playoffs!

For the Giants, it's simple.

The entire point of attempting a figgie on a down other than fourth is that, if something goes wrong, the holder can just spike the ball and move on to the next down and, presumably, another figgie attempt.

Probably the last thing you should do is roll out right and throw to the right guard who, rather than blocking the three d-lineman converging on the holder, is running a fly route. On a field goal attempt. While he's ineligible.

That botched snap had to be the most comical play I've ever seen. When the holder didn't spike it, I assumed he was rolling out to throw it away. When he did throw it, I assumed he was trying to throw it to an eligible receiver. I mean, I don't think it's humanly possibly to do more things wrong on a figgie attempt.
I am a huge Giants fan. And I couldn't agree more on that final play. All Matt Allen had to do was spike it, the kicker had the leg and it was only 3rd down.

I am crestfallen. The Shockey drop was huge but it's not his fault the D let up two 2-point conversions and couldn't stop Garcia & Owens.

The 1st FG, they should have gone for it one 4th and 1. No doubt. I was screaming at the screen. I knew they would miss it. Good game, but my team lost. I am heartbroken. :(

Turned on the Giants/49ers game right as the 49ers scored their first comeback touchdown. Not having seen the first half of the game, my response was that the Giants were playing stupid ball. God knows plays get blown and touchdown passes get dropped. Heck, I'm a New England/Red Sox fan--I know all about blown games. :) The FG doesn't even warrant comment, but the string of personal fouls (on both teams) was ridiculous. If Williams hadn't played into Owens three times (!) that's 45 yards more the 49ers would have had to move the ball. in a 1000+ yard game, that's significant. But--and I think here's where the real loss was--the 49ers had them beat from the first comeback touchdown. For whatever reason they were so clearly broken down psychologically. It wasn't until the final missed conversion that I thought they might pull it together.

And the Saturday games were disappointing more because they were just not good games. I was glad to see the Jets playing as strong a game as they did against NE to at least console our (stupid ball) loss.

Being a Tennessean, I'm rooting for the Titans all the way.
Being a fellow Titans fan, I'm not sure who I would rather play against: the Jets or the Raiders. As of right now I'd say the Raiders, but if its the Jets then it's at home. Hmm, decisions, decisions.
