Resistance is futile, there is in the end, no other way to go, sorry. I tried to resist, I ran, but in the end, there is only one, I had hopes for Chronopia, too. Now they make Celtos (well, some of the folks) but I am sure that too, will pass.

Hahahaha! :) I hear you, and I have felt your pain for too many years. I DID have hopes for Chronopia, and sadly it went under. You might try a dogpile or google search for Celtos. They make some decent pieces. There is also a game called Wargods of Aegyptus (or something to that effect, I just saw the book once) that you may give a gander. The problem is, most people have invested so much in Warhammer that they are not easily convinced to try other games, and that is a sad thing to me.

Hope that helps some,

well, it may be a bit simplistic for some, but my favorite set of fantasy rules for wargaming is ... Fantasy Rules! by Chipco.

here is their website.

one of the best things about the ruleset is that it isn't tied to a miniatures line, so you can just go ahead and use whatever minis you've already got.

Well, as far as I know, Chronopia has been picked up by Excelsior, and is being fully supported with new mini's, a hardcover rulebook, and supplements.

I've seen the new Swamp Goblins (sculpted by Bobby Jackson) and they're pretty cool.

Wargods of Aegyptus has the coolest mini's ever and the rulebook is beautiful. It's put out by Crocodile games.

Celtos has awesome mini's, but you may want to give it a pass, as it is a little pricey. If you want to get away from GW, you're probably looking for low-cost games.

I played GW HARDCORE for 10 years, and haven't played a game since 1997.
I am not only happier for it, but richer too! There is life after Warhammer! ;)

Good luck!
