If you follow this link you get a better look at those photographs and see that in one of them, they have used red light to make it appear that the girl is still in the painting but that the boy has stepped out of the painting.

Very Cthulu stuff.

I can see this happening in my game as well, or even in a short story. I have ideas, beautiful visions of strangely disjointed child like dolls carionette like creeping through across a candle lit ceiling, smilling innocently of course.

Agreed. I've been itching to run a one-off game of CoC sometime, and I may just base an adventure around this painting so I can print it out and show it around. That is, of course, if I can stand to print the horrible thing out and have a hard copy of it in my home...

Huh... the red print really does make it look like a handgun. I'm not a gun enthusiest, but it looks close to any semi-auto with a 6 inch barrel that I've seen.

Interesting none-the-less. I'm still considering running a really good one-shot CoC game... the painting is plenty good for some original campaigning.

I thought it looked a little like a switchblade or a straight razor in the red picture.

What the original ebay ad is trying to say is that those red pictures are from a stakeout where they waited to see something weird, and the boy appeared to step out of the painting because he was being threatened. A cursory glance doesn't reveal that it was (obviously) photo-shopped, but I'm also not even close to being an expert on that sort of thing. The painting looks like it is strangely lit, but whatever its leaning against (a heating register?), is colored normally.

Haunted... I have my doubts. But it is undeniably a friggin' creepy-arsed picture. Ick, ick, ick!

Tewligan: Yeah, the vast majority of dolls and stuffed animals are spooky. Glassy stares, vapid smiles and cracking faces...
For trivia's sake, the fear of dolls is known as Pediophobia.

Great. Now that's going to keep me up all night! I can't get the damn image out of my head!

Very good painting, it captures horror.

It took me a while to get to sleep last night because I kept thinking of that horrible doll/girl/thing. I think I was actually a little afraid to go to sleep for fear of dreaming about it. Bah - I hate dolls, especially creepy ones! If I'm tired during my D&D game tonight, I blame the painter for painting that, and Shadowdancer for not considering my delicate psyche before posting that link.

You think that's scary? Man... "I have seen $#!+ that'll turn you white!"
