Wait until you see the final goal on the news:

At about 18:00 in the 3rd, a long shot from between the red and the blue line; It hit Mika Salo over the head and flipped in the net!

What, the formula 1 driver was in the game?

FYI: Mika Salo is F1 Driver
Tommy Salo is the Swedish goalkeeper

Don't be so sure...But it's gonna be interesting game (Fin-Can).
Whomever wins has extremely good change to go in the finals, so I'm sure both do their very best.

I haven't played hockey since I was ten but there's something about growing up in Northern Canada and idolizing Bobby Orr (who I met when I was five) -- nothing gets to me the way hockey does. I haven't watched a game since that heartbreaking loss to the Czechs in Nagano. Just couldn't handle the pain, I guess.

But this has been a great tournament all around. If we can't get the gold I hope Belarus does. Good for them!

Where in Northern Canada?

You Canadians shouldnät dismiss Finland; we beat you in nagano. The game starts in a couple of hours, and it'll be a thrill.

There is definately something to fight for; Belarus shouldn't prove too hard for either Can or Fin. (I know, Swedes thought that too ;))

Hey, tryin' to stir the pot!?!? :D

Nobody is giving Canada the game -- least of all, I suspect, the guys Team Canada.

Finland did beat Russia in the round robin.

Hurme's an excellent young goalie, and Selanne appears to have found his stride in the tournament.

Finland always plays Canada extremely tough.

Whatever the case, I imagine that both teams will really go for it precisely because Belarus appears to have opened something of a door to the gold medal game. Should be an exciting game!

I will say this, though: Canada has yet to play its best game, and the team has been steadily improving and gelling -- and the mood among the players seems to have solidified into one of determination and common purpose. Also, Brodeur is, um, not Salo -- couple of Stanley Cups will do that fer ya! :D

Say, "d20 Hockey" anyone? I can see it now: Sense Motive and Bluff become key skills; a whole new set of feats, though perhaps Power Attack definitely stays; different sorts of armor for the goalies and players; critical hits could cause injuries ("Oh, sorry, you're out for 3 weeks with a sprained ankle!"). Only, how would one work penalties? Hmm . . . .

I am absolutely shocked! I watched the whole thing and I couldn't believe my eyes!

No fairI wasn't able to see it! Stupid Dick Ebersol.

US only needs one more win to get a medal, hopefully they'll get two. I just hope the team avoids a shoot out with Russia and Tkachuk and Weight are healthy enough to play Friday.

I'm surprised no one's commented on the Canada/Finland game. Even though I wanted to see Canada win I was kind of hoping Finland would tie the game so it would last longer.

It was a good game. The Russian/US game though, now THAT will be NASTY. Any word if Tkachuk is going to play? How about John LeClair? I heard he got dinged pretty well at the end of the game against Germany.

I just don't want to talk about it, ok?

Gah, I'm crying my eyes out! Still, congratulations to Belarus. It's always fun to see the underdog win.

Sorry Frost. I HONESTLY wanted Sweden to win. I just am sorry that bad of a goal happened. Btw, maybe you guys need Forsberg after all?
