Yup. They announced it in the summer. In order to get the highest rated events on during prime time hours, they are being tape delayed, and edited down to fit alloted time slots. NBC is quite unapologetic about it, too.

Winter Olympics Rock

Being Canadian, I can hardly wait. First and foremost for the hockey. We didn't win gold last time, which totally sucked, so we're on a mission. Our women's hockey team is looking for a little payback too. Keep an eye out for female speed skater Catriona Le May Doan. Actually, you may want to use two eyes for her. We're also supposed to kick butt in curling(!), figure skating, and snow shoveling. In fact, Canada is favoured to have medal sweeps in the "Chipping the Ice Off of the Car Window, and "Drinking American Beer Like It Was Water" events.

From what I've heard about their performance against the USA women since the last games (0-8) you're probably going to have continue waiting....

On a completely unrelated note, the american olympic coverage is pretty lame, and don't get me started about the american coverage of the World Cup or Tour de France, though lately it's been getting better.
