I think that was a really cool move on that guy's part. A lot of people don't understand that anything that fills a void in your life is a good thing, and that just because other people don't give it the same degree of respect doesn't mean that you can't put it on a pedestal and still be a good, honest, hard-working, sane person. What that guy did took guts, and its good to see that that Pentagon general honored him for it. We need more Optimus Primes out among us!
