[OT; PICTURE HEAVY] New addition to Djeta and MojoGMs household...

I know this is off topic, but this is the most exciting thing that has ever happened to us...and I didn't know who better to share it with....

On 7/7/03 , Chris (MOJOGM) and I became the proud owners of a 2.5 month old Jack Russell Terrier puppy.

Sort of on topic .... Anyone care to make up some stats for him? He definately has high charisma...

Oh yeah....and his names Monty.

LOL, my neighbor has a Jack Russell named Monty too! But beware, Jack's have a reputation for being vicious and aggressive as is borne out by neighbor's dog's behaviour around any body but his owner.

Congrats on the new dog. Did you get him at a shelter?

Hi. Yeah. He's going to be trained well, and put through obiedence school. This is our first dog (my second....I had a Shepard Terrier mix growing up). We're trying to get him used to as many people/ places/ sitauations as possible. So far, so good. I have read so many mixed descriptions of the breed that I decided to just go with my personal philosophy that any dog or any animal can be trained with patience and time. (I have worked with large exotic animals before).

I would have liked to have gotten a dog at a shelter but unfortunately all the dogs at our local shelter were very big (because of people, I suppose, who buy puppies and forget that they grow up...grrrr...).

And, since we have some size restrictions on us per our landlord, we had to make sure we knew what size dog we were getting, so we had to go for a purebred from a breeder. If we ever move into a larger area, I'd love to get a Shepard too.

But this lil' bundle of fur is plenty for now.

Ghettognome and I just got a new puppy about a month ago, man she's grown! She's a labrador/shepherd mix, so she's not done growing either. In fact, I just got back in from fixing the fence in the backyard where she had managed to bust out some boards and get into the neighbor's yard. (Yes, she's more ghettognome's child than mine...what can I say? )
