Got to work today and what did I find in my mail? Bandai Entertainment had sent me a copy of Escaflowne: The Movie Ultimate Edition. On DVD. Has one DVD with the movie, one DVD with the extras and one DVD with just the soundtrack. Sweet!

Oh yeah, there's also a press release about their upcoming The Vision of Escaflowne DVD box set, which contains all 26 episodes of the television series. This is a limited edition set, with only 10,000 sets, and each set also contains an Escaflowne action figure.

What's your job and why would they send it?

I am the arts and entertainment editor for a daily newspaper. They sent it to me to A.) promote the fact that the movie DVD is now available and B.) promote the fact that the TV series DVD box set is coming out.

I don't get a lot of movie DVD copies at work. Usually I'll get music CDs to review, books to review and some TV movies on video to review. This week I got my first TV movie on DVD -- from Hallmark -- and today I got my first DVD of a motion picture release.
