(OT) This is truly a dark day...

...for my standing in the Geek Guild.

I couldn't get tickets for opening day (next Thursday) for Star Wars. Everything in town is sold out at all the times we could go. We have to settle for going Friday.

:(

Damn Fandango, anyway. If they hadn't gone down under the number of users, if they'd prepared for this the way they should have, I'd have been in the system hours earlier, and could have gotten opening day tickets.

Oh, I don't relish showing my face at the next Geek Guild meeting...

Actually, I believe you are referring to the Hubcap of Shame. :)

Seeing it twice on opening day

We're voting you out next Friday. Thursday's meeting was cancelled because...well, I hate to rub it in. Needless to say, I'll be sleeping in.

And here I was feeling bad because I didn't get FIRST SHOW (12:01am Thursday) tickets at the Grauman's Chinese (Hollywood), and had to settle for 7:00pm Thursday tickets instead.

I feel better now :)

Mouseferatu: I share your pain. I live an hour north of you, and was planning to go to Austin to see it opening day. I was surprised at how few showings there are, and the earliest one is like, 10 a.m. Judging from the show times on Fandango, none of the theaters are showing it on more than one screen. I can't understand that.

My only hope now lies in the theater in Killeen. Their box office won't start selling tickets until the morning of the day it opens, and I'm betting it will be on more than one screen.

No, no, you're looking at this all wrong. The glass isn't half empty, it's half full:

Pretend like you did this on purpose, and you'll look cool with the *anti* Lucas Geeks. :)

You think that's bad? My mom doesn't even care about going early... It'll be like TPM, me not being able to go until after the first MONTH. I guess I could walk to the theatre, but I don't know where it is... And 2.50 won't buy a movie ticket, will it?
Let's all gather round, and sing Kumbaia to help get through our crisises...

PS: Is the geek guild an actual group or some made up thing? Brain no work at 5:15... sorry.
