I would howl like a werewolf at this news, but it might be in poor taste.

I will say that I am sorry to hear this. He created some of the most fun songs of the 70's and 80's.

I saw him in concert about 6 years ago. It was a great show. Hopefully he'll be able to do a little more touring so people who haven't gotten to see the show can.

Quick! Send lawyers, guns and money...

This is terribly depressing news. :(

Warren Zevon is a phenomenal singer/songwriter and this is one more reason why Cancer Research is so important. We loose too many wonderful talents because of this condition.

Wow. That sucks.

My husband & I saw him in concert 2 years ago, and it was a really good show.

On a lighter note, the Doors are back together. They got Stewart Copeland from the Police playing drums and Ian Astbury from the Cult singing.

Ray Manzarek says that this is the official, permanent lineup.

I too am saddened by this news. I have seen him live a couple of times and enjoyed his music countless times. Speaks to our dark side he does, and yet always with the unspoken hope. I couldn't begin to count how many times I may have quoted his lyrics.

I'm sure he will find more dark and poignant things to say to us in his last days. I for one look forward to the balance of his work and wish him godspeed, all alone on the road to perfection.

... I'll sleep when I'm dead.

I am saddened by this news. I have enjoyed Warren Zevon's music, and his lyrics. I hope that he will be surrounded by family and friends during this dark time.
