I'm going to stick with a classical approach of "run, panic, and loot". I still remember those Duck and Cover drills, and what a complete and utter farce they were.

Trust me, stick with "run, panic, and loot". Never fails.

I agree with Shawn. I was at a school where someone (a friend of mine at the time, actually) decided to bring a gun to school and actually discharged it (he didn't actually hit anyone, thank God). An announcement came over the intercom telling us to sit down and stay out of sight from the windows (easier in the classroom I was in than some, which were pretty much all windows). I'd say that the 'code Red' alert is a good idea, and I don't believe it is meant to create a 'meat shield' for teachers.

I think sending the students to the football field in the event of a terrorist attack is kind of backwards. I'm sure that some 'terrorists' would accept this 'surrender' for what it is. However, I'm sure there are others who would take this as an opportunity to do something that no-one would like to see.

Just some thoughts by me.
