Yeah, I don't think my temple does anything big for Shavuot...then again, I haven't been to my temple in years (I'm at college, and the High Holy Days are during school).

wow, when i saw you wishing folks a happy rosh hashana i just assumed...sorry bout that, always a mistake to make assumptions i guess :)

i thought that the folks who were responding there were in keeping with personal traditions, why it didn't occur to me that folks of other faiths would respond is beyond me :)

knowing what a friendly and open guy you are i guess it makes sense in reflection....

That's great alsih2o!

Advent - the four weeks prior to Christmas.
Christmas - December 25th.
Thanksgiving - 4th Thursday in November.
Lent - Ash Wednesday to Easter
Ash Wednesday - Seventh wednesday before easter
Good friday - Friday before Easter - April 18th 2003 is the next one.
Easter - April 20, 2003 is the next one.
Pentecost - Seventh Sunday after Easter.

I think that pretty much covers the Christian Holidays/seasons.

Certainly not! You've left out Lady Day, the Annunciation, Epiphany/Twelfth Night, Candlemass, the Feast of the Circumcision, Shrove Tuesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Ascension Sunday, Michaelmass, All Saints', All Souls', and hundreds of saint's days.

Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday in October in Canada.

Canada Day is July 1st. The first Monday in August is the Civic Holiday which is just an excuse to let off fireworks.

We celebrate Victoria Day on the third Monday in May. The May twofour weekend is traditionally celebrated with a twofour (case of 24 beers), eh?

Labour Day is the first Monday in September in Canada.

Hmm, I guess us Canucks just don't like Mondays.:D
