(OTish) Photos of a ruined asylum

My best guess on a location was the Danvers State Hospital in Massachusetts, a fairly well-known former asylum and setting of the recent (and not half bad) David Caruso horror film "Session 9." However, in looking at a few photos I pulled up online just now, I don't think that's right.

Still, if you want a creepy setting, check out "Session 9." Almost all of the scenes were shot on location in and around the asylum, and the interior shots (even the static ones) were seriously giving me the creeps.

I'll pass on gaming at either one of these places, thanks very much!

Theres an old insane asylum in Illinois in the Kankakee area-Manteeno I think. Its wide open -a large sprawling campus-very creepy. Its easily accessible check it out if your in the area- do it soon as they are beginning to tear it all down to build housing-which is kind of creepy in its own way.

i'm like an hour and half from the Danvers place. I'd be more then willing to go up there one weekend and check the place out, but it looks like the place is gaurded. dam. and i doubt i would fit the states definition of a "qualified film maker" to get a permit to go in there to "film." double dam.

does anyone know of other (and possibly more accessable) places like this in MA?
