Our next session is Friday the 13th!

Hi Everyone,

My group will be getting together for a nightly gaming session soon. Friday the 13th is, ironically, the night that we will be playing on. It will be the 10th session in an on-going campaign, and I'm looking for some fun ways to work in the famous date.

I don't want it to greatly effect the story or deter from the flow of the game, but I was thinking something along the lines of "every natural 13 rolled on an attack is a miss" or something like that. Any suggestions on how Friday the 13th's notorious reputation for bad luck can work its way into the game?

Thanks!

:)

Well, Friday the 13th is supposed to have something to do with witches. So, you could have a module centered around 13 hags working together to cast some sort of evil curse on a village, or something.

Aside from that, on every roll of 13, you could implement some kind of wild surge result. That'd be pretty wild.

It will be the 10th session in an on-going campaign...

We also will be playing on June 13th, and - better than that - it's Session 13 of the current adventure! We left off with the party hearing the angry roar of a huge beast; they're currently rushing down the hall to find out what fate awaits them.

I'm a little nervous as DM; I'd hate for the party to roll 1s all night and get slaughtered. Even worse, I'd hate for everyone to roll 1s all night!

Player: "I swing again! Another g06#4m One! I miss -- again!"
DM: "The monster swings at you. His ungainly swing goes far wide and he nearly clubs himself in the eye. Your turn again."
Party: "Nooooo!"

;-)
