And the cool thing? Thousands of years in the future, when just about all traces of mankind are gone from the Earth, if you go land on the right spot on the Moon, you'll find a nice plaque with Richard M. Nixon's name engraved on it. I imagine it'll still probably be in pretty good shape, too, what with the lack of atmosphere on the Moon....

A lot of US Presidents worry about their "legacy"...Nixon's got them all beat by a long shot.

That was The Quiet Earth, but the trick was that the old guy abandoned the other two and killed himself to stop the rest of the world from being destroyed.

I knew I was remembering the ending wrong. Thanks. I thought I was recalling a much sadder ending than what I had posted, but it'd been so long ago, that I didn't bother correcting it. Mostly cause I didn't anyone else had ever even seen it! Thanks for the name, btw.
