Well, I'm back at work. Having more days off was something I couldn't afford - both in terms of money and in terms of what I have to do.

I spent a lot of yesterday at home on the internet - primarily playing board games at brettspielwelt.de; great, great site. Alas, that wasn't how I spent today.

I've decided I really, really, really like Tomb Spiders (MMIV). My poor players will face some advanced ones on Sunday; my voice has recovered enough for that, I think.

Sort of off-topic (which fits in well with this board!) - do you actually need to own copies of the games in order to play them? I would like to give Settlers of Catan a go but I have never actually played it before and therefore don't know any of the rules.

You don't need to own them, and you should be able to find the rules online. Mind you, the Settlers interface is slightly confusing if you don't know the game.

I do own most of the games I play there (Settlers, Carcassonne, Caylus, & Thurn und Taxis), but I don't own Transamerica which I've learnt at bsw.

It is a really good idea to download the client, and then edit the preferences (prop) file to display the games in English. It isn't hard; contact me if you'd like more help.

I think I'll soon be back online (for most of this afternoon & evening).

Cool, thanks for that Merric. It won't necessarily be tomorrow (or even in the next month - damn new houses!) but it's something I'll keep in mind for those lazy rainy days. I'll shout out to you if I need any help.
