I'm going to tell you something about myself. Something that may shatter whatever images you may have created for me in your minds. Something that, when you close your eyes and think of me, could redraw that beautiful mental avatar that you've created.

I'm fat. It's a sad truth, really, but it's the truth nonetheless. I've been fat all my life--literally since the day I was born. I've suffered all sorts of name-calling any bullying throughout my childhood because of it, but I still managed to grow to adulthood without killing anyone and without blaming my condition, or my treatment at the hands of other because of it, on the rest of the world. The other half of this sad truth: It's my own fault. I don't get too much exercise (read: none).

Anyway, long story short: After attempting what seems like every diet and exercise plan in the world, and failing, I've decided to follow in my lovely wife's footsteps and have some weight-loss surgery. She had hers a year ago, and looks and feels amazing.

And this whole post boils down to this: My surgery is tomorrow. I'll be out of pocket until Tuesday, when I should be home and sufficiently incapacitated to spend some time in front of the keyboard and get back into things. I *might* be able to check in, but I'm less than confident. Please, RP Kago for me while I am away.

[sblock=A few simple tips for playing Kago]
Kago has a skeleton key on the bottom of his right foot. Simply slam it against any locked door for immediate access. Rinse and repeat as necessary.
Kago will not run from a fight. He'll go to where he can do the most damage, whether that be the biggest enemy or the biggest group of enemies.
If When Kago heals Solace, he'll remind her that it's Gruumsh will that she lives, and maybe she should consider some tribute.
If Brinn needs healing... well, Raza has some spells I think.
If Stool needs healing, Kago needs lunch.

You slay me, industrygothica. If we're talking bariatric surgery, that's a major deal and I will pray you are safely delivered from it. Well, I'll pray regardless. Take it easy, and all my good wishes go with you.

On the plus side, maybe you have time to do a little mapping during your recovery? MAPPING, not napping.

Well. Do the latter, too, if you can.

It's a vertical sleeve gastrectomy. Or something. It's all laparoscopic, but apparently it's still a major thing.

I haven't been terribly inspired on the mapping front lately. Though when I get my copy of Curse of Strahd in next month, I've a feeling that I'll wind up breaking down and attempting to run another game. The last couple haven't worked out so well, but we'll see.

You guys have fun while I'm away... and do try to keep Kago alive. I've grown rather fond him. :)

I have space on my docket for another game. I'm only running one and playing in one right now (and the one I'm playing in is both short-term and slow). If you run CoS, let me know. A lot for me depends on who else is playing; I've become choosey lately about who I game with. The right group could make CoS really come alive.

Simplest solution to the day length/ travel time issue is to say that a prerequisite of Shushaar showing us to his city is that he spends 8 hours a day teaching us how to meditate!

Alternatively, rule that time passes differently in the Underdark to the surface, and due to the spelunking involved, 8 hours travel on surface is distance wise the same as 12 hours in Underdark (but no added exhaustion because of extra breaks taken during travel time?

This would be quite an interesting forum post...:)
