Why is Brinn having trouble understanding Jimjar?
Because I thought you indicated Brinn has only a broken understanding of Undercommon, picked up during Brinn's captivity? Shall we roll with passable fluency in Undercommon, now that Brinn's been actively hearing and probably using Undercommon for the last six days? OK by me. Let me know, eh?

I'm going through the RG in order of entry, checking everyone's character sheet updates for 4th level (for those who've had time to do the update, at least...not everyone has had free time). Brinn looks correct, lowkey13. Raza looks correct, GlassEye (thanks for the L4 breakdown of what you took, that was very helpful). Yavathol, should Kamael have five cantrips that he knows? I think you might need to pick an extra one. I count his racial cantrip (light), and four known cantrips. If I look at the PHB entry for a 4th level sorcerer, it says you should know five cantrips. Let me know if I'm missing something. Kobold Stew, I'll wait 'til you're done updating Solace to vet her.

It's 2:55 am. I'm on my smartphone because I can't sleep. I hopped over to the IC and copied and pasted the tinypic url into a browser bar on my phone, and was able to pull up the standard photo of Kamael. This is totally bizarre, and has to be a failure with how the site was loading on my laptop last night, because last night all I could view was the image I describe above. Weird! I'm glad I asked...I was totally scratching my head why you'd posted that.

Thanks CB, good catch! Ok folks, input appreciated please since I can't decide! I've narrowed it down:

1) Fire Bolt - makes thematic sense, if Kamael is independently discovering how to put together spells, then Fire Bolt is probably a large component of Scorching Ray, and it does great damage for a cantrip. Does it make him too much of a pyromaniac though, or too offensively focused?

2) Mending - not likely to be used that much, but when it is needed, it is invaluable, like rope or lockpicks breaking! Given that several of the characters are dressed in rags and spelunking is hard on clothes, would probably get a lot of use off-camera:D

3) Message - generally too short range, but I'm finding it hard to be independent since in our current situation it would be perfect for allowing forward scouts and rest of party to coordinate sneaking up on whatever is on the ledge..

(my opinion only)

1. You are heavily invested in attack cantrips already (you have 3). A fourth seems to me excessive. (Perhaps you would prefer Fire Bolt to one of the ones you already have?)

2. Many solid uses. Your description seems most excited about this.

3. 120' is pretty far, and I don't think the range is short. You'd find tactical uses for this but it seems less immediately useful.

I'd plunk for Mending, but it's entirely your call.
