Outer Planar High; Pilot

Robbert Raets

Explorer
The sky is blue. The ground below is a patchwork of colours, a multitude of landscapes. Up ahead is an immense spire.

Above the Spire of the Outlands floats the City of Sigil. City of Portals, Center of the Multiverse, Lady's Grace and other names does it bear.

On the edge of ring-shaped Sigil is a large building that doesn't seem to attract as much traffic as the rest of the City. That's because most Cutters know what a bee's hive of trouble hundreds of teens can be. This building is the Sigil Public High School or Outer Planar High, as the attendants of said institution tend to call it.

Inside SPHS, one can find a plethora of students. Planars, Primes, Djinn, they're all there, and they all follow the same rules. The Principal, a powerful being (according to some students, on par with The Lady) is in charge of the School and demands strict neutrality and obedience from all students. Troublemakers are rare, and quickly expelled.

No day is ever in the slightest bit 'normal' at Outer Planar High. But the first day of school is even worse.

Striding through the streets of Sigil, Craeleric is torn between curling his lip and looking around like a tourist. He settles for keeping his face impassive- no use getting marked a berk the first day in school.

School... the crowds thinned as he reached the building. He looks up at the sign, adjusts the massive sword on his back, and throws the doors wide.

The sounds hits him like a sonic-substituted fireball- yells, shouts, screams and growls in two dozen languages. A myriad of forms, only half of them bipedal, fly, slither, and rundown the hallways. Craeleric spots a pair of Slaadi brood, and resists the urge to draw his sword and charge. Calm. You'll have to to deal with all sorts here. Taking a deep breath, he walks onwards.

Alural stepped out of the Janitor's closet, and adjusted her horribly revealing leather clothing. Thanks to the kind person still thanking his gods inside the closet, she now knew where her first class was. Hey, one thing led to another. Alural cast a lustful look at the other occupants of the school. This is SO much better than those schools in the lower planes. Too much torture and not enough fun. Hmm...everyone else will fit right in here. She giggled, and made her way to her first class.

Striding down the halls Vandredi casts his azure eyes about and it is visible, from the way he shakes his head that he is having trouble suppressing his desire to do something about the fiends and other evildoers all around the grounds as he marches towards the main buildings.

Gotta remember that fighting ,where I can get caught, will get me expelled, Dad won't like that at all. Maybe I'll meet someone/something here thats interesting enough to make this worthwhile. Maybe I should try and form a student council that oughta rustle up some interesting people.

Quiet footfalls ring out along the cobblestone streets. The Great Clock in the market square gongs. Above the shrieking of seagulls Dewey exclaims, "I'm late! I'm late!" He turns down an alley and pauses to catch his breath. A cool breeze blows on his face while he fumbles with the copper key hanging around his neck. Dewey hastily pushes it into a small crack in the wall and turns it with a resounding click. A rectangular outline of light glows signifying the portal is active. Dewey pushes his glasses up and takes a deep breath. Then, steps through the gate.

The portal exits in a narrow hallway between the band hall and the shop wing. Dewey sprints down the hall past students already warming up their instruments. Dewey ponders how time can be syncronized across all planes. Even planes that don't have a day and night cycle continue the inexorable march into the future. He suddenly pictures a huge clock, greater even the the clock in Illul by which the gods mark time. Dewey quickly dismisses the whole idea as another mystery of the divine and tries to focus on the task at hand. Too late however does he cease he daydreaming to notice an obsticle in his path. Dewey trips over someone and falls flat on his face with a BOOM. Books and papers scatter everywhere. His glasses clatter to the floor, sliding just out of reach. Dewey crawls along with hands outstreached. "Where did my glasses go?" He asks himself.

Okay, time to get to know each other, you guys!

Alurel sees Dewey slide to a stop just in front of her. His glasses bounce inbetween Vandredi's feet and Craeleric is drawn to the scene by the noise of blundering Gnomishnes.

Alural bends over and lifts Dewey onto his feet. As she does so, she changes form to that of a very beautiful human female in an all too revealing outfit. "Why, hello there."

OOC: If it's likely to make any difference, remember that Dewey will hear this in his native language (Gnomish, I suppose).

Vandredi bends over and grabs the glasses and then heads over to give them back as he does so he sees Alural and he almost begins to drool.

Don't make a fool of yourself, remember its a demon, if you must drool like a moron at least check if she's evil first. Nope doesn't seem to be, wohoo!

To Dewey "Here you go sir" Quiet clearly distracted

To Alural:
"And who might you be oh Vision of Loveliness?"

"Why, thank you both very much." He says to Vandrei and Alural.
"I am afraid I am quite blind without these." Dewey says as he pushes his glasses up.
"My name is Dewey Muhldra." He hold out his hand. Dewey is suddenly taken aback by Alurals appearance.
"Oh my. Miss, you are almost naked."

"And proboably violating the dress code," interject Craeleric, walking over and looking at Alural dubiously. "Unless, of course," he continues, and his voice begins to sound like it's reciting from memory, "your clothing has 'ethnic, planar, or religious signifigance that may not be disregarded.'" The blue-skinned student looks over the group, and then adds, in case anyone was wondering, "Student handbook, section 3, subsection 2, paragraph 1c, down near the bottom."
