Okay, I think what I want to do is simple, but I can't figure it out. When I send e-mail it list my name along with my e-mail address, I want to edit out my name. I cannot figure out how to do this, does anyone know how that can help?

Sure, no problem. Go to Tools at the top, select Accounts. Select the account you are having the problem with and then click Properties to the right. The window that pops up should allow you to change all your acct information under the General tab. The field you are concerned with here is Name.

Do you honestly think that somebody struggling with Outlook's interface is going to be able to take advantage of command line interactions with a telnet server?

It would be educational, of course, but probably not going to happen.
