Are there any rules, anywhere, that exist for handling low-oxgyen or thin-oxygen environments, such as one might get in a mountain range. My thinking right now is to ask for a DC 10 Con check every round of strenuous activity (like combat) in such an environment, with the DC increasing the higher you get and the less oxygen there is. For realism, I also figured the checks should continue even after the combat is over, and throughout you take 1d6 nonlethal damage from lack of oxygen until you finally pass a save and get your breath pack. PCs who pass out from the nonlethal damage take half of the total in lethal damage.
What do people think? Is this fair? Are there any 'real' rules for this?
