P1 King of the Trollhaunt Warrens Excerpts

Since it really hasn't been discussed, I have to say that I really like the new version of the will-o-wisp. I never liked that it was an aberration in 3.5e, so the change to the fey origin is most appropriate IMO. Also liked its abilities, especially the Luring Glow with its sustain minor ability. They can certainly be nasty little critters.

The new will-o-wisp is awesome. I love it. The abilities just exude evil, evil, evil. Waits around for an opportunity, goes in for blood. And then ZIP. It's gone. Fantastic.

Doesn't the Fey Light power contradicts the errata on concealment? Is simple concealment enough for a stealth check? Or is that a specific exception for this power?

Based on the wording of the power description, I don't think that the concealment and Stealth check to remain unnoticed are directly related.

I'm running some will-o'-wisps in my game tomorrow night, and am unsure about Luring Glow. It's a standard, but sustain minor. Does that mean it can turn it on as a standard action, and then attack with it each turn as a minor action until it goes dark (at which point it can no longer sustain)? Or does the sustain keep the target dazed until they save?

Huh! Yeah, that's a weird one.

I'd say that it means a Wisp can Pull 3 as a minor action against a target who hasn't saved yet. The second daze is superfluous because the character evidently hasn't stopped being Dazed yet, given that they haven't saved yet.

Also, welcome to ENWorld! FYI, there's a 4e D&D Rules Discussion forum just a little ways down the main forum page where we love talking about this kind of stuff. :) I figure you probably hopped straight into this thread from Google, and didn't notice.
