D&D General Pact of the Chain + Wild Companion =?

That’s an important question, since you might use it on another player character or other ally. Making it quite common. Logically, the effect should end if the recipient is dead our unconscious - but the text doesn’t actually say that. I - do not know.
I'll stay with familars. If I send the Defender into a room and it dies, I'm out of luck. I have to go into the room to get it back.

Also, Familars can fly, be invisible, burrow, blind sight, and other features as needed..

Probably going to skip Wizard. Too much investment and there's a good chance it dies anyways.
The archivist subclass has a pet that is invulnerable and can be used to cast spells from its space though.
That requires a bonus action to move, which conflicts with Gaze of Two Minds. Same issue with Arcane Eye.

Unseen Servant could work in a pinch. It's a bonus action to command, but tell it to wait a moment and then go stand in the next room.

Also, Gaze is till the end of your turn, so still opportunity to use a bonus action. The recall your Familar with an action.

Also, Cloud of Daggers works with this strategy, Moonbeam isn't needed.

So....
Wood Elf, Archfey Warlock 11 / Druid 2
Invocations: Pact of the Chain, Agonizing Blast, Repelling Blast, Eldritch Spear, Gaze of 2 Mind, One With Shadows, Visions of Distant Realm.
Feats: Elven Accuracy (they can't see you, so easy advantage). Inspiring Leader. Spell Sniper.

Probably as far away as possible, with good escape options.

Since it's invulnerable, the Manifest Mind doesn't need to move about that much, you don't need gaze of two minds to use its senses, it can fly and move through barriers. The only drawback is you can only cast from it's space a limited number of times per day.

But since artificer pets don't count as familiars, you can always have a familiar as well.

And a Homunculus Servant, which can move without using a bonus action with Gaze of Two Minds on it.

And you can get all that with a 3 level dip.

It's Artificer spells only, Int times. Which likely means only once with the Wis and Cha.

Still would be a great scout though.

Also, just noticed there is no limit on Information Overload. That's remote damage right there.

Honestly feels too OP. Invulnerable at 300' seems unreasonable, and even more anti-social if I tell everyone not to go into a dungeon until i cleared it.
At least with Familiars i am expending resource, they can search and find the invisible ones and kill them.

True.

With the new UA, Homunculus is a level 2 spell. So Artificer 5. Also 100GP per cast. So not something i can just send into a monster lair.

Still, if I'm already warlock 5 for Gaze of 2 Minds, then 4 levels gives me Arcane Eye, higher level slots, and doesn't cost Int. I sent that in first. Then if the familiar dies, I can still move Cloud of Daggers around.

But it was certainly worth looking into. Maybe the final Archivist will change things to make it worth while.

Not sure it's worth while, but seems fun to launch a Sphinx around a corner to roll Moonbeam around or remotely spam Eldritch Blast. And then not worry when they die. Possibly Badger for burrow.

I don't think you can remotely cast spells from your Sphinx except touch spells unless there is something I am missing. You can use their senses, but this does not overcome cover.

You could cast Chill Touch with them in this fashion though, assuming they were right next to them and you would have advantage on the attack if you were out of sight.

Also, just to confirm, Meld into Stone doesn't prevent you from casting spells. It only prevents sight and movment. So a GOO warlock could still use Mind Spkke though their familiar.

Again not normally due to the target having full cover.

And since they can't see you. You have advantage on Eldritch Blast, even if can see your familiar?

This works if you are for example in a Darkness spell or a Fog Cloud and your familiar is outside of it. I use it this way quite often with my Tiefling Fighter/Warlock in Darkness.

This does not work if the enemy is around the corner or outside of the stone while you are in the stone because in those cases it has full cover.

Gaze of Two Minds.
Takes a bonus action every turn, and limited to 60', but I can then cast from their space. Or even an allies.

Also, it would more like be an Imp or Sprite as they can go invisible and fly faster. Sphinx is for lower levels, and can just attack.

The original question was if I could use Druids Wild Companion to summon a Pact of the Chain familar, to avoid paying the GP cost (since I expect them to die a lot), and get them to attack.

Can't you recover and reuse the heart like the earlier version? That would be a pain.
Nope. (worth a 100+GP,which the spell consumes)

But it does fly, doesn't require any actions, 1 mile telepathaty range, has a 30' ranged attack, proficiency on all saves, and Evasion.

So as long as your not throwing it head first into battle (which i fully indend to do), it should last and be quite useful out of combat.
Gaze of Two Minds is a very strong ability. I would be inclined to use it on the barbarian for the LOLs.
Also a good option. Rogues too.
Also, Animal Messenger.
