Pathfinder 1E Paizo being mysterious

They could be deciding what to give me for a birthday present. Admittedly unlikely, but just in case, Paizo, I'd really like a signed copy of the entire Pathfinder #2! :)

Well, my birthday is tommorow, and I rather like the present they appear to have given me, even if they sprung the surprise a day early.

I was too afraid to wish for this. This is the BEST birthday surprize ever!

Congrats to Mr. Stewart

Ah yes, Shemeska, I do believe you were listed as a contributer along with Ed Greenwood among other luminaries, correct?

Congratulations, sir!! :D

Cheers,
Colin

James Jacobs said in chat last week to make sure we attend today's chat. In the days following that chat other Paizo staff have said they have not received the GSL yet.

I'm assuming they set 3/18 as their cutoff date for their next Adventure Path (Second Darkness). Since they do not have the GSL, I'm assuming they are going to announce that the third adventure path will be 3.5. They will probably also say that they're waiting until 2009 to decide on 4E support.

Give this man a cigar. :)

I want to know where the new players are coming from.

3e brought a lot of people back to D&D.

4e will apparently leave a lot of 3.5e folks behind.

Wulf, you raise an excellent question--and one that we have raised to Wizards. I am worried about the "leave behind" factor, when they could easily bring them along by helping me help them do it. I am still 100% dedicated to 4E, and I've told Wizards that. But to a great degree, existing players trust third party publishers--often more than they trust Wizards (sad but true, and it happens in all industries that the regular guy is skeptical of the "big company's" motives).

Or they can call Clark/Orcus

Yeah, that is a little bit of a home field advantage :)

No one knows the ins and outs of those licenses better, I am proud to say. We all need a niche in life, who knew that would be mine. :) Kinda funny actually...

Was Clark talking for Necromancer or for Paizo? Because Paizo has been waiting to see the GSL, while Necro has said they are going 4E

We are in 100% to support 4E. So in a way, Paizo is doing 4E--in partnership with me.

Maybe Paizo and Necromancers are merging and will support both 3.5 and 4e.

We arent merging.

Necro is Necro, Paizo is Paizo. But we are partnered. Paizo's Pathfinder line is supporing 3.5 and their Pathfinder set of rules. Necro, through Paizo, is doing 4E products. So in a way, come to Paizo and you have the best of both worlds. Want to stay 3E? Go Pathfinder. Want to go 4E? Necro will have products for you, including a Necro Adventure Path for 4E once the GSL gets hammered out. I've been in contact with Wizarads. I still believe they are 100% behind supporting third party publishers. Scott Rouse and Linae Foster are awesome.
