Just because they are changing it doesn't make it a problem. There are lots of "fixes" for problems that don't exist.I mean, Paizo is okay with changing it. Seems like maybe you should just concede that it's problematic.

On the other hand, you established that phylactery has no bearing on the Jewish culture. It's however a part of Paizo's culture as "the name of the item liches use as soul cage". As a legitimate arbiter of what is acceptable to Paizo, Paizo themselves can certainly decide to drop a word. Irrespective of any real world use of the word. They could change baelnorn to nornbael, as well (assuming baelnorn is a fully made up word), or decide to drop the letter e. Which woul mak thir products much mor difficult to rad.
