Awesome. Just awesome. I was ready to let my multi-year subscription lapse, and then here come the new Dungeon and Dragon. Two issues packed with up to 90 percent goodness instead of 99 percent uselesness. I'll be reupping for sure, now.

I know Erik will be pleased to hear that. I'll just pretend I had something to do with that. ;)

Where did they put Cauldron?

Also, they give a very brief description of the location and history necessary to put the city of Cauldron and its surrounding region (from Dungeon's Adventure Path series) into the Greyhawk campaign.

Can you tell me where they placed Cauldron in Greyhawk? I've been running the Adventure Path in Greyhawk with Cauldron located in the mountains between the Domain of Greyhawk and the Duchy of Urnst. Its worked pretty well, but it's not a perfect fit (the area isn't as tropical as the Adventure Path would seem to suggest).

I'll be getting the magazine soon (the delivery has gotten better recently, after the great Paizo delivery screw-up of Christmas 2003) but I'm impatient, so could you tell me now?

I would if I could. I'm at work at the moment, and my magazine is at home. I should be able to in a couple of hours though. Sorry!

More specifically, they said:

"Players wishing to set the Shackled City Adventure Path in the World of Greyhawk might consider placing Cauldron near the northwest border of Hex 77-U1 on the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer map. With this placement, Cauldron (and the nearby city of Sasserine) would have been established as a secure trade outpost by Sea Princes-aligned merchants about 150 years ago. When the expansion of the Keoish navy checked the ambitions of the Sea Princes 20 years later, the Cauldron/Sasserinecolony was forced to survive in a hostile, isolated clime. In the ensuing years, they freed their slaves and abandoned their connection to their former patrons, embracing a culture and political identity all their own."

That's what they say about setting the Shackled City in Greyhawk, in its entirety.
