Pathfinder 1E Paizo improved? probably a myth

Gotcha!

Really, if you DM D&D, you should give the new Dungeon a try if you haven't picked it up in a while. (I receive no compensation from Paizo, yadda, yadda.)

I had the same shipping problems as diaglo, but within the past 2-3 months they appear to have resolved themselves -- my magazine generally appears about the time the first "Dragon contents" post shows up on EN World, now.

As to international shipping, ????

I have noticed the same thing over the past few months. It seems like I am benefiting from some of the changes Paizo has done with shipping. I noticed the last two issues of Dungeon and Dragon appeared in my mailbox before I could wonder if they were late... a nice suprise.

#1 Glad to see the head Paizo Honcho posting here! (As well as Erik Mona and EGG all in the same day!)

#2 I have all the d20 issues of both Dungeon and Dragon (as well as a great many earlier issues). I was not happy when the change in format was announced, as I saw some great things in both mags. When Dungeon came out, I changed my mind. This has become a great mag, and if you haven't been keeping up, check it out!

#3 I was ready to let my subscription to Dragon lapse. The first two issues after the change in format were just abismal. I found absolutley nothing of use to me, except the character class articels at the end. That said, I have seen a steady and welcome improvement in the past three issues. So much so, in fact, that I just renewed my subscription to both periodicals last week. I still think that this is the best source of consistently good game material available.

#4 Evil hordling #3 votes no to polyhedron. Long live Dungeon!

On the other hand

Sadly, I have found that getting my Dragon magazine subscription to Canada seems nearly impossible for Paizo. I have had to contact customer service for replacement mags 5 times out of 12 issues. Although, their service reps send out the replacements within a week, a failure rate of almost 50% is unacceptable to any paying customer. Simply replacing missing mags doesn't seem to be enough either at this point. When delivery is this poor, perhaps some sort of goodwill effort should be made, even if it's only a couple months extension and an apology. Seeing as how paid subscriptions are guarenteed income for Paizo, I was dismayed at how little attention was paid to addressing my concerns.

I have to chime in on the opposite side. Until a few months ago I'd see someone (I think it was Henry?) post the contents here. Then in 3 days I'd have my issue. Now I get it before that post goes up or on the same day. I have been very happy with my subscription and the delivery. And with the magazine content too. I think Erik (or whoever is responsible for delivery) has taken some of the heat and has done something about it.
As for location, I live in Newark, Delaware, USA, and admitedly I get my mail pretty darn fast here (like 2 days from Boston, MA to my mailbox). Maybe part of the problems are with local mail services? A part, not all.

When I started subscribing to Dragon & Dungeon (right around 3Es release), my delivery was usually right around the time the first posts went up. My FLGS's would get them about a day later.

Within the last year or two, I started getting it a week or so after the FLGS got them. I did make comments about this. In the past few months, however, I've gotten them even before the first posts appeared here.

I also live in Newark, DE, BTW.

I GREATLY enjoy "Dungeon" and "Dragon" magazines. My subscription ended about 6 months ago, and I have not yet be able (financially) to renew it. But I have been scraping up enough money each month to buy the issues as they come out. As soon as I have a enough money in one shot to re-subscribe, I absolutely will.

Not everything in Dragon appeals to me. I still have a big problem with there being pages spent on fiction rather than game content. (I can easily get all the fiction I want at my local book store, but there are few resources for gaming content like that which is in Dragon). But still, I find myself going back and reading articles that I may have skipped at first, but now are relevent to my game.

I hope people don't take these mags for granted, because alot of people will be very sad if they were to stop publishing.

I'm in the positive experience camp. When Paizo declared they would improve their mailing strategy, I got my last delayed copy of a mag together with the first one that came on time. Since then, everything has been fine :) *knocks on wood* ;).
