Honestly I don't know if I get mine on time or late.
I get both mags and when I get them I read them. About a month later I get the next ones.

I do notice I get them about the same time they get mentioned here. But I figure if I get them 30 days apart I am doing alright.

BTW - I love both magazines as is and the directions they are going.

I like dragon mag, I always have. Even if i don't always use everything in my game, it's still cool to read, and I like some of the features (especially the new Class Acts section, though lately they seem to be of lesser quality)

Anyway, a few years ago my wife bought me a subscription. I got 2 mags, both late. Then they sent me a cancellation notice saying i never payed. WHAT?!?!?!

My wife had sent a check with HER NAME on it, with the subscription card in my name. So, we called them, and they said the situation would be resolved. it never was, as I never recieved another dragon magazine, and I did however recieve another bill.

So I let it go, and now whenever i see one at the store that I don;t have, I pick it up.

Will I ever subscribe again? probably not.

Would I recommend anyone else do so? Heck No.

But I will send them to the store to get one.

I saw your post in the other thread and, maybe next year I'll have the money to resubscribe. When I do have the money, whether or not there is an index available will definitely affect my decision whether or not to subscribe.

I'm not all that picky about what's in the magazine (as demonstrated by the fact that the variations in quality over the last several years haven't affected me much) but I do want to be able to find what is in there...

A few years ago, the magazine was published by an entirely different company, with an entirely different staff, and entirely different circumstances.

I'm not saying that subscription problems are unheard of these days--they aren't. But we've taken enormous steps lately to get everyone but Diaglo their magazines on time, and many readers have posted that things have improved.

I just wanted to provide some context. Depending upon how many years ago we're talking about, your comment could be similar to "I hated the second edition Complete Elves book, so I'm not going to buy third edition."

Just wanted to clarify things in case people weren't aware of how many changes have taken place in the last few years, to say nothing of the improvements in shipping we've made in the last few months.

I do appreciate that you continue to buy the magazine on the newsstands, and appreciate your continuing patronage of the magazines.

Maybe this explains my problem, since I live a few miles from diaglo, so the vendetta against him is affecting me too!

All in good fun, of course. I got my replacement copy of Dragon 329 today! And Dungeon 321 came yesterday, so hopefully things are back on track.

I can't believe people complain about the price of the magazines. It is less than the cost of a decent lunch, especially with the subscription discount. A steal, if you ask me.

You're not trying to compare the price of a Dragon issue to, say a Cosmopolitan magazine without looking at both readership base, are you?

When it comes to luring advertisers to buy space -- the very reason why the price of the magazine is $7 per issue and not $20 like ad-free Gaming Frontier -- Cosmo offer more exposure.
