Pathfinder 1E [Paizo/Necromancer] Paizo & Necromancer Announce New Roleplaying Product Partnership

Does this mean we may start to see some Necromancer material in the pages of Dragon or Dungeon, or is that content still under the purview of a WotC license? For example, I'd love to see an adventure that builds off the Lost Caverns of Thracia, or a monster ecology article on a Tome of Horrors critter that includes the stat block.

Content in Dragon and Dungeon is A) official Dungeons & Dragons content and B) owned by Wizards of the Coast. As cool as that partnership might be, it's not in our publishing rights to do so. :-)

We'll be partnering with Necromancer Games for hardcover books and possibly more. Those details and the nitty gritty like release dates will be announced in the coming months.

Joe-

Sorry, man, I respect you but I have to call you on this one. I know that you live in Chicagoland-- and are you telling me that you do not see the Dragon Compendium or Art of Dragon in Borders or B&N?? You are not looking very hard, then, my friend! Seriously, both books are in (at least) the Evanston stores of both sellers, the Lincoln Park stores of both sellers, and the Lakeview Borders.

EDIT: I do think you are right about the first adventure path HC, though; I do not remember seeing that one in the big two booksellers.

I've seen the Art of Dragon. I've never seen the Dragon Compendium at the Borders on Lincon (Lincon/Kedzie), the one on Broadway (Broadway by Wilson), the one on Rand Road (Randhurst Mall), the one at Golf across from the Woodfield Mall.

Like I said, it may be that they've sold out of 'em but I haven't seen 'em. (Shackled City/Dragon Compendium)

And I just checked.

Mt. Prospect Order

Schaumburg Order

Deerfield Order

Wilmette Order

And updated it for area code 60076.

Evanston Order

Chicago - Lincoln Village Order

Wilmette Order

Chicago - Uptown Order

And checking Amazon.com... No Dragon Compendium unless you buy it from secondary sellers and 1 to 2 months to get Shackled City (which generally means they'll cancel your order before it ships because they don't have it/can't get it.)

So I am not imagining things.

I, for one, am glad to see this. I think its best if Necromancer keeps its distance from WOTC influence. I like Necromancer because they have an overall distinct difference in adventure flavors and I think having to follow WOTC rules may compromise that too much to be worth it.

Just like Dungeon has too much "similiar" overall feel, which I easily spice up, so this isn't a complaint, just how I personally see things.

So I am really excited to see how both companies do in the future, especially with Paizo doing adventure stuff outside of WOTC's control. Not to mention the increase in production quality for Necromancer.

This is a very cool partnering with a heck of a lot of potential that I hope becomes heavily tapped into.

Amazon ran out of the Compendium and put in an order for 50 more copies the day before yesterday. I suspect the other stores don't have it because it is no longer a brand new item, but I'll mention it to their head buyer when I see him at Book Expo America in a few weeks.

Cause now Necromancer Games can use the worlds Adventure Path AND get one too! :D

If you're saying that Necromancer Games can use the words Adventure Path, that's an incorrect assertion. (Correct me if I'm miscorrecting your post.) Adventure Path is Paizo's trademark and Adventure Paths exist within the pages of Dungeon magazine. A Necromancer Adventure Path isn't possible for a variety of reasons.

A Necromancer campaign arc or module arc--now that's possible. At this point, though, we're not ready to announce any future Necromancer-Paizo produced products beyond Tegel Manor. Stay tuned in the coming months for additional details.

Josh,

See I thought since it was a partner ship, they could now use those words. But if that's not the case, eh. I'll live. But thanks for correcting me. (And yes you were right.)
