Pathfinder 1E Paizo to publish 2 books

I know this probably goes without saying, but the Best of Dragon is going to be unaltered, right?

I personally wouldn't mind seeing articles that are pre-3.5E updated to the Revised Third Edition, but I imagine I'm in the minority on that one.
I'm also curious about this. Any comments from the source?

I have all the SCAP issues already, and my story hour thread set in the Shackled City will probably be done by the time this wraps up, but I'll almost certainly buy the hardcover just as a culmination of all the fun I've had writing in this setting. That book sitting next to a self-bound PDF printout of my SH will make a nice addition to my bookshelf. Probably will look around for a discount, however.

As reported as GamingReport Shackled City compilation and best of Dragon.

$60 for Shackled City, ouch. But probably worth it.

I'll get both!

My thanks to whoever brought the idea to the thinktank at paizo. :)

Any chance of resolving the licensing issues for a LGJ compliation or getting new articles published?

Congrads on the new products, I'll have to pick up a copy of the book at GenCon.

Mike

A LGJ compilation would be very cool! I would definetly buy one.

Also, I would LOVE to see a Best of Dungeon yearly bringing some old Dungeon favorites to 3.5 edition. Stuff like the Mud Sorcerer's Tomb, Ancient Blood, and the Ember ones. Hope Im not a minority here.

If these books are profitable and if Wizards of the Coast is pleased enough with them to let us continue doing them, I think something like this (and the oft-mentioned "Incursion" product) would become very likely.

BTW, all of the rules in the Dragon Compendium will be 3.5-compatible. That might mean a bit of bias toward more recent articles, but it might not. I'm still deciding what goes where. Think of this more as a compilation of useful rules and official content that appeared in Dragon over the years and less as a verbatim reprint of old articles with bad art, and you're getting closer to what I envision for the project.

But Erik, so many good articles appeared in issue 100 and earlier... :p

...and the art was often good...and there will at least be a 3.5 "dwarves in space", right

(and I am very much looking foward to this, seriously)

I'm looking forward to both of these very much. They have made my GenCon Must Buy list. The Adventure Path book sounds really good, I loved the adventures when i read them, but haven't run them. With sidebars for using it in Eberron I might just have to start running a second game come fall. As far as updating the Dragon Compendium, thats great, but I'd be just as happy with th earticles as originally printed. Of course, updated will sell more, so I understand why you are doing it.

i wouldn't really need to buy a compendium with reprinted articles... for the most part, i already would have nearly all of them, on paper and/or on CD-rom. but updated... that would be worth at the very least a long hard look. :) and likely a purchase...
