I'd prefer it if a proper version of Dark Sun got published. One without pushing the timeline 300 years forward, and without paladins.

I sort of envisioned that the Dragon compilation would be from before the 3.5E era, but I suppose that was just my assumption. That said, I doubt Dark Sun will be there, simply because it got such mixed reviews, and because said reviews weren't unanimous in saying how it "should have been". I, for example, liked the timeline leap forward, but didn't like the mechanical changes.

Ahem, that bit of unpleasantness aside, it's great that the articles are indeed going to be updated! That immediately makes it jump from being a momento (which I'd only buy if I had extra funds) to a must-have purchase for me! I'm definately going to be getting both of these, and hope Paizo does more in the future (come on Incursion book)!

I don't envy the guys compiling it and upgrading it though (I tried to do this myself... ouch).

we've converted many monsters from Dragon and other sources at the Creature Catalog. and yes, it's a hell of a lot of work, if you want to do it right.
