Hmm. Interesting that this didn't make the news page of thier web site. It seems to imply that they'll be carrying a decent line of RPG products. Hopefully this will include some third party products that don't get a lot of coverage in the average gaming store.

Of course I still order my online stuff the the ENWorld store. Plug. Plug.

I'd guess their web store will be a front for another company.

I can't see them getting into a full-service store with the small staff that they have - not to mention the fact that this would seem to be outside their primary function of creating magazines.

But, hopefully it will be successful for them. (Although there's pretty strong competition out there already in such a market.)

I wonder if I ordered their magazines through their online store, would I get them faster than my subscription?

No.

I ordered a back issue of a magazine, and it took twice as long (nearly a month) as my subscription usually takes to arrive.

Only a month!

That's fast. They're usually three months behind.

As a fellow Australian subscriber I understand what you mean. However, do you also experience every third or so issue of both magazines simply not arriving or is this just my experience?

I wonder if they'll also be opening a PDF store. Paizo is in a unique position to do very well with online retailing -- by using advertising space in their magazines they could quickly dominate the online sales scene. And by running features/reviews covering third party products they have the potential to greatly influence the buying habits of thousands of gamers. After all, they reach far more gamers than most websites.
