Pathfinder 1E Paizo vs Amazon.com

So has anyone been able to get any of the small modules from Amazon.com? I've had Crown of the Kobold King on order for about two months now and they just e-mailed me to let me know that it'll be delayed possibly up till Feburary.

I just picked up crown of the kobold king at my LGS last Friday. I can't imagine what the trouble with Amazon is.

I rarely buy from Amazon for this reason (I by through Amazon somewhat frequently, though only from 3rd-party resellers).

The only modules I've ever gotten from Amazon are either from WotC (no problems) or Goodman Games The Adventure Begins (no problems). Wait, and the Freeport Trilogy Revised.

But I did notice that the small pamphlet-style modules all have weird estimated ship times. Maybe they stick them in a strange warehouse in the middle of nowhere or something.

Amazon.com sucks for a lot of small press RPG stuff. Some they have, some they don't. Usually for those I go with FRPGames, which carries just about everything.

Sometimes even fairly prominennt publishers - I had a couple DCC's ordered from them, but they never shipped. So I finally just cancelled.

I once tried to buy a tech book from the 1st edition Mutants & Masterminds game. I love tech books, the system doesn't matter to me. I put in the order for the book as I normally do. I buy *lots* of books (and other items) from Amazon. A month after the order goes in I receive an email telling me that the book will be delayed. No big deal, I authorize the delay. Another month passes, another delay. Month three, the same deal. At this point I am just playing along to see how far this thing goes... After delaying my order for *six* months Amazon cancels the order. Out of curiosity I check the page entry for the book in question. It was still up and being offered for sale. With a 1 - 3 week shipment time listed...

I still buy from Amazon but their rep has been severely tarnished...

I just sent an email to our guy who handles our sales into Amazon via Diamond. I'll see what we can do to get Amazon to order our products in a more timely fashion. Stay tuned.

And this is why Paizo rocks :D

By the way, I always buy my Paizo stuff from Paizo's homepage, and there has never been any problem. Their customer service is way better than Amazon's as well :)

I work for Amazon.com. I can tell you that we have limited room in our facilities, so we mostly hold books that are somewhat popular and don't deal with books of more limited appeal except through third party affiliates. I've seen Disney books sit on shelves for nearly a year without someone purchasing it, so it's really not in the company's interest to deal with smaller RPG companies. On the other hand, WOTC books are stocked pretty heavy and I've seen DCC modules also sell well, so these are continually sold through Amazon.com.
