Pathfinder 1E Paizo vs Amazon.com

I work for Amazon.com. I can tell you that we have limited room in our facilities, so we mostly hold books that are somewhat popular and don't deal with books of more limited appeal except through third party affiliates. I've seen Disney books sit on shelves for nearly a year without someone purchasing it, so it's really not in the company's interest to deal with smaller RPG companies. On the other hand, WOTC books are stocked pretty heavy and I've seen DCC modules also sell well, so these are continually sold through Amazon.com.

Its that a little bit of the chicken and the egg? if you actually stocked/shipped in the time you said you would some of this stuff then people would order more often it instead of coming here going "amazon is taking forever to ship me something and not accurately reflecting ship time, i'll never order anything like that from them again".

hopefully they stocked Pathfinder #1—Rise of the Runelords Chapter 1: "Burnt Offerings"....

because it rocks! It is the best low level adventure I've seen in ages.

Yea, I have had Pathfinder #1 on order through Amazon for 3 weeks now I think, and they ETA is Oct 15th I think :(

I will wait another week and then just pick it up from the not so local game store.

I like Amazon and I get most of my WoTC and GURPS stuff from them with no problems

And this is why Paizo rocks :D

By the way, I always buy my Paizo stuff from Paizo's homepage, and there has never been any problem. Their customer service is way better than Amazon's as well :)

We try. :-)

I spoke to our guy who handles Amazon via Diamond and we're going to review all of our products in the next two weeks on Amazon and provide them with correct release dates. A quick look at just a few of our products finds the release dates to be incorrect. We'll get this taken care of!

I've had both good and bad ordering experiences with both Amazon and Paizo. My rule of thumb is only to order something from Amazon when they show that it is in stock and ready to ship immediately.

I heart Paizo, I just wish they would be a little bit more open with their fluff.

But that's a story for another thread.

That's my general policy too. Amazon is spot on and great, as long as the item listed reads "ships in 24 hours". I'll often get it sooner than they say I will.

If there's any longer shipping time on it, especially a range listed in weeks, i.e. "Ships in 1-3 weeks" or "ships in 4-6 weeks", I'll take the pass, as i can't recall actually ever getting a product from them with that shipping time. Sad but true.

But for immediate shipping? I'm all over it! Good service at that point.

Take care
Don

Um, is there some reason why folks are not ordering the stuff through, oh I don't know, Paizo.com? Is it the discount?

Sorry for the snarkiness but if you want it just go to paizo.com (shrug)

Josh,
Can you do something about Paizo's outrageous DDM singles prices?

100% because of discount and free shipping... I am loyal and all, but my dollars go towards lots of different things, so I tend to watch them if at all possible. If I can't get it there, then I am happy to order it from the source and all...
